Sympathy strikes
were called in
Brandon, Calgary, New Westminster, Vancouver, Regina, Saskatoon, Edmonton,
Prince Albert, Victoria and 20 other towns. Conservative senator Gideon
Robertson, Minster of Labour and Arthur Meighen, Minister of the Interior and
Acting Minister of Justice went to Winnipeg to negotiate with the citizens’
committee. They refused to grant the requests from the Central Strike Committee.
