The British workers managed to get a nine hour work day but they had many
accidents in the last hour. Canadian made it a goal to work nine hours a
day. The printers of the globe made it a strike and later workers of other
Toronto newspapers joined them. |

George brown, the publisher of the globe who organized other newspaper
publishers to react immediately against the strikers and the Nine hour
movement. Seventeen other newspaper publishers joined George brown. The
strike breakers replaced the workers and their jobs. The strike ended
without the workers being granted their wishes. |
